Most cosmetic brands suggest a large amount of products: one cream for the hands, a nourishing balm for dry skin, a lotion for baby skin etc. If you noticed the ingredients used by the different organic lotion brands, you will notice that they are almost all the same! What changes is the packaging, the branding and the prices. The smallest the more expensive. This is why we opted for a true minimalist and honest approach by offering one product that works for the whole family!

Propreties

Preservation ?

Our balm is a natural product without any preservatives. Its conservation is therefore shorter than that of a commercial product.

However, it does not contain water, which increases its longevity.

So, kept in a cool, dry place the balm will have a shelf life of 6 months.

Use?

Our balm can be used on the whole body, even as a hair mask. Simply apply a small quantity of the balm in the palm of your hands and massage the area that needs moisturizing. We advise you to use the balm on targeted areas (dry skin, milk crusts on babies' heads, etc.) to see the best results.

In order not to contaminate your balm, we advise you to always wash your hands prior to use.

The balm consists only of butters and oils of vegetable origin, so it is normal that its texture is more oily than that of a commercial lotion.

However, shea butter is non-comedogenic, that is, it does not clog the pores of the skin. So you can use the balm on your face daily without the risk of undesirable pimples and blackheads!

Ethics?

We test all our products on us first, and then our own children, never on animals.

With the exception of organic beeswax, all ingredients are 100% plant-based, natural & organic (without sulfate, paraben, dye, perfume and artificial preservative).

Interesting fact; all the ingredients of our shea balm are edible. If your toddler decides to taste it without your knowledge, no problem!

Our balm is handcrafted in Montreal and its container is recyclable and reusable.

Essential oil?

Many natural and artisanal products use essential oils in their ingredients. On our side, we have opted for aromatic essences that are safer for pregnant women, babies and children.

The action of essential oils on the endocrine system of foetuses and children is still poorly known. Essential oils rich in ketone: a natural neurotoxin (sage, mint, eucalyptus & camphor), are particularly dangerous for pregnant women and children. They are also very irritating to the fragile skin of infants, which is why we do not use them.

The essential oils are obtained by steam distillation while the aromatic essences are distilled with alcohol then mixed with vegetable oil. Thus, the only thing we look for in aromatic essence is its olfact

Allergies?

It is now proven that children suffering from eczema are often either sensitive or allergic to nuts. Our balm does not contain any nut derivatives*.

Repeated expositions from nuts oils contained in many baby products (lotion, soap…) could aggravate and even instigate skin reactions and allergies on children*.
